Winter Swimming 2016-2017
We hope that you have been enjoying the opportunity to swim on Tuesdays and Saturdays during September. Now it is almost time for our regular season to begin!
Our regular season will start on Tuesday October 4th at ETHS and our schedule will be the same as in past years: Tuesday and Thursday- 7:30-9:00pm and Saturday and Sunday-6:30-8:00am and 3:30-5:00pm. Any cancellations will be posted on the calendar on the website and announced at practice.
We would like to welcome all of our coaches for this season! Shannon, Ellis, Amy and Ruby are our returning coaches from last year. Dave Ackermann and John Martin will also be rejoining the coaching team and Dan Melnick will be joining us this year.
To swim with us during the fall you will need to be a current USMS member and also register for our team on our Website. When you register on the website, you will be able to choose to pay by credit card on the website (select the "Credit Card Processed On This Web Site" option when you are asked to "Select a Payment Method.") or choose to pay by check by bringing your check to the pool or mailing it in (select "Print Invoice and Send Check" option when you are asked to "Select a Payment Method.") There will be a slight discount for paying your full membership by check and only the check option will be available for a two installment plant or weekend-only plan.
Pricing will be as follows:
$400 full membership with check
$420 full membership with credit card
$210 each for two installment plan with checks
$250 for weekend-only with check
"Lets get our swim legs back for the winter season Catfish"
Our regular season will start on Tuesday, October 4th and we will have the same schedule as previous years (Tues/Thurs 7:30-9pm and Sat/Sun 6:30am-8am and 3:30-5pm).
However--do you want to keep in swim shape in the month of September?? Come and swim with us on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
How is this going to work?
1. There are eight workouts in the month of September: Tuesday 9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27 and Saturday 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1.
2. Show up to Evanston High School for Tuesday night workouts from 7:30-9pm or Saturday mornings from 6:30-8am.
3. There is a $5 per person per swim drop in fee. So if you swim all eight, that would $40. If you only swim once, that would $5, etc. Bring cash or checks. No IOUs.
4. You must sign up with your name and emergency contact info prior to entering the water. USMS registration is required to swim. If you are new to USMS, you can use the free 30 day trial:
5. There will be a workout posted on the whiteboards and a volunteer on deck to watch the pool for safety, but there will be no active on-deck coaching.
Please let us know if there are any questions.

Summer Swimming 2016
Come out this summer and swim with Evanston Masters. This year we will be outdoors in Wilmette at the Centennial Outdoor Pool. Enjoy some long course workouts in the 50 meter pool with fellow teammates.
Join this very diverse team of adult swimmers of all ability levels. Expert coaching and appropriate workouts are provided for all skill levels. We can help you reach your swimming goal, whether that means improved fitness, learning a new stroke, completing the swimming portion of an Iron Man or breaking a National USMS Record. Attendance isn’t required; however, it is best to attend as many practices as your schedule allows. We will help you improve your freestyle as well as learn the 3 other strokes (butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke). You will also learn how to do starts and proper turns. All of this will enable you to participate fully in the assigned practices and prepare you for meets. Participants must have the basic mechanics of freestyle mastered and must be able to swim at least 50 meters.
Swimming starts June 13, 2016.
Practices are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:15am to 6:30am, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00pm to 10:15pm, and Saturdays from 7:15am to 8:45am
To register, create a login with the Wilmette Park District and enroll at this link:
Do a search under "SWIM PROGRAMS" and will be listed under "Wilmette Masters". Contact Evanston Masters or Wilmette Park District with any issues.
